Aspalathox™
is a registered trademark licensed to Afriplex (Pty)
Ltd, a South African producer of natural herbal
extracts. Aspalathox™ has been
assigned to Afriplex’s flagship
natural anti-oxidant, which is being produced under patent.
Aspalathox™ is extracted from
the foliage and thin stems of the indigenous South African plant,
Aspalathus linearis, commonly known as "Rooibos"
(Red Bush).
Found predominantly in the Cedarberg region of the Western Cape,
this delicate shrub grows nowhere else in the world. It reaches
a height of about 1,5m to 2m tall, with small yellow flowers
in spring. |

| Essential ingredients |
Aspalathox™
contains a proprietry composition of the essential anti-oxidant
ingredients of Rooibos tea, a traditional beverage made exclusively
from the Rooibos plant. It is produced through the selection
and concentration of the naturally occurring phenolic acids
and polyphenolic compounds. It is recognised as a particularly
heat resistant water soluble anti-oxidant.
As with traditional rooibos tea, Aspalathox™
is free of caffeine - a substance which forces your body to
function under sustained, heightened level of stress, affecting
among other things your heart and blood pressure.
Unlike most tea extracts, Aspalathox™
contains very little tannin, which is known to decrease the
body's absorption of iron and inhibit proper digestion of protein.
In fact the tannin content of Aspalathox™
is so low that tests have confirmed that its affect on iron
absorption is negligible.
Aspalathox™
also contains calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, manganese, zinc,
fluoride, potassium and sodium - all of which boost the body's
metabolic processes and nervous systems, helping to keep skin,
bones and teeth healthy and strong. |
