The composition of Aspalathox™
Aspalathox™ contains all the essential ingredients of Rooibos which is a unique tea-like beverage traditionally made from fermented plant material of the genus Aspalathus linearis. It is rich in phenolic acids, polyphenolic compounds, minerals, is caffeine free, and has low tannin content.

In particular, Aspalathox™ has an enriched concentration of the unique dihydrochalcone, Aspalathin, hitherto only to be found in the plant material of Aspalathus linearis. Aspalathin itself has been found to be one of the most potent antioxidants in the flavanoid family.
Aspalathox™ contains no traces of any other chemical substances not found in the
Aspalathus linearis
plant. It is therefore a completely natural substance containing only compounds also present in Rooibos tea.

Aspalathox™ is low in tannin, which is a substance that decreases the body's absorption of iron and inhibits proper digestion of protein.

The level of tannin in Aspalathox™ is so low that tests have confirmed that Aspalathox™ does not significantly affect iron absorption.

It also contains no caffeine. Studies on caffeine show that it forces your body to function under sustained, heightened level of stress, affecting among other things your heart and blood pressure.
Aspalathox™ contains minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, manganese, zinc, fluoride, potassium and sodium. These minerals aid the body in maintaining healthy metabolic processes and nervous systems, and keep your skin, bones and teeth healthy and strong.

Aspalathox™ is especially enriched in polyphenols, compounds known to possess potent antioxidant activity. The two types of polyphenols found in Aspalathox are the flavanoids

A description of the flavanoids and phenolic acids found in Aspalathox™ follows.

There are eleven known flavanoids present in Aspalathox™. The flavanoid composition of Aspalathox™ is unique insofar it contains aspalathin, hitherto only isolated from Rooibos. Aspalathin is a potent antioxidant. Another flavanoid is nothofagin that apart from Rooibos, has previously only been isolated from one other plant species. Aspalathin and nothofagin are examples of dihydrochalcones.

The other flavanoids present in Aspalathox™ include  chrysoeriol ,  luteolin ,  quercetin ,  isoquercitrin ,  rutin ,  orientin ,  vitexin  iso-orientin  and  iso-vitexin . These flavanoids are examples of flavanols, flavones and flavanones.

There are seven known phenolic acids present in Aspalathox™. The phenolic acids are derivatives of benzoic acid and cinnamic acid. These include:  p-hydroxybenzoic acid , protocatechuic acid ,  vanillic acid ,  syringic acid ,  p-coumaric acid ,  caffeic acid  and  ferulic acid .
